| NBC
TV's Today Show crew spent two days in June in Shelburne, Nova Scotia shooting footage for
an Independence Day segment of American Story with
Bob Dotson. The award-winning Dotson and his
professional crew filmed local reenactors (3rd
New Jersey Volunteers, King's Orange Rangers,
Brigade of the American Revolution) portraying
Loyalist civilians and soldiers. The longboat built
recently in Shelburne played a starring role in the
shooting. Most of the reenactors will be
taking part in the
Grand
Reenactment Weekend on July 17-20 in
Shelburne. NBC filmed 18th Century camp life,
marching, parading and musket firing and a small
re-creation of Loyalists landing in Shelburne. The
segment aired on July 4th in the USA on NBC
TV - TO 5 MILLION VIEWERS!.
